Magenta

This short flower grows up to 6 inches (15 cm) tall. Its burgundy stems grow in bunches of 4 and are very thin with a curved tip, and the giant, drab green and hazel leaves are cylindrical with rounded edges. A pair of leaves grow at the base of the stem.

5 to 7 giant flowers grow on alternate sides up the length of the stem. The flowers are 18 cm (7.1 inches) wide, with blood red petals on the lower layer and magenta petals decorated with magenta dots on the inner layer. The central disk is black. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of 15 petals. They are hardy.

It has a delicate scent that smells like vomit, and it has very little pollen; it does not cause any allergic reactions. It is a self-pollinator, but is also particularly attractive to insects.
