Crimson vine

This huge vine is a slow growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 2,224 feet (677.9 meters) and growing as high as 254 feet (77.4 meters).

It takes 9 years for the crimson or cyan stems to mature, by which point they have tangled themselves into thick mats with a diameter of 3.7 feet (1.1 meters) and are smooth and woody.

The stiff, pointed, crispy leaves reach up to 3.8 feet (1.1 meters) in length. They are either peach, or deep purple with gentle red patches, and have irregular edges.

During late spring, the vine produces a thick sheet of tiny blue flowers.
