Bluefruit Tree

Fruit Tree type: Coniferous (Sheds its leaves in winter)

This modest-sized fruit tree grows up to 16 feet (4.9 meters) tall and lives for up to 20 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 39 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has a knobbly, wonky trunk covered in waxy, black bark, and inside, the dense wood is light brown.

The sparse patches of branches are very short, thin and wispy and are covered with sparse amounts of large, wide leaves with wavy edges. The leaves themselves are generally sky blue.

In early spring, it produces dozens of medium-sized, pale blue blossoms with triangular shaped petals. They are very delicate and have a scent whose strength depends on external factors, such as soil quality and rain frequency that smells like fresh linen.

In early winter it produces large, long, straight fruit. The smooth faded orange skin is delicate and sweet, and the soft green flesh is sweet and savoury and dry. The bronze seed is tiny and sits at the end of the fruit.

The roots form a tightly packed ball, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
