Silverpine

Tree type: Coniferous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This average-sized tree grows up to 17 meters (55.8 feet) tall and lives for over 3,000 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 3099 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a sturdy, straight trunk covered in very thick, ridged, black with white speckled bark, and inside, the very dense wood is silver.

The small bunches of branches are short, thin and wispy, with thousands of twigs covered with handfuls of small, orange needles. The needles themselves are light.

In late summer it produces large, lime, winged seeds that spin and fall nearby.

The roots are shallow and widely spread, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.

It can grow in even the most barren lands.
It can survive a very long time without water.
It is suitable for making baskets and the like
