Bloodvine
Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)This small tree grows up to 4 meters (13.1 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 150 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has a long and flexible, straight trunk covered in cracked, dark green bark, and inside, the very hard wood is mahogany-coloured.
The extensive patches of branches trail down across the ground and are covered with thick bunches of waxy, small, asymmetrical leaves with rounded edges. The leaves themselves are orange-yellow with blood red tips.
In early spring, it produces hundreds of small, orange blossoms with pleated petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They are sturdy and have a weak scent that smells like mango.
In late summer it forms small, lime, winged seeds that spin and fall nearby.
The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.
Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with patches of undergrowth between them.
It can grow in even the most barren lands.
