Burgundy Moss

This burgundy moss is commonly found blanketing tiny areas In moorlands, and In heathlands.
It is massive, growing up to 1.4 feet (43 cm) tall. It forms in extensive patches, and is overwhelmingly resilient.
When mature, emerald shield-shaped capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the mid-autumn to release thousands of spores.
