Copperberry

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This average-sized fruit tree grows up to 16 feet (4.9 meters) tall and lives for up to 45 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 65 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has a thick, wonky trunk covered in waxy, burgundy bark, and inside, the hard wood is white with black speckles.

The branches are long and thick and are covered with very large amounts of miniature, fan-like leaves with ripped edges. The leaves themselves are solid copper with amber dots.

In early spring, it produces a thick sheet of giant, orange blossoms with 2 circular shaped petals. They are very delicate and have a soft scent that smells like grass cuttings.

In mid-autumn it produces small, finger-like fruit. The leathery ashy purple skin is delicate and inedible, and the slightly crunchy slate flesh is spicy and juicy. The beige seeds are small and are bunched at the top of the fruit.

The roots form a tightly packed ball, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with grassy ground between them.

It is suitable for making strong rope
