Burgundy Succulent

This small cactus grows up to 9 feet (2.7 meters) tall. It splits randomly along the body to form 2 very thin stems. Each stem is burgundy, and is covered in handfuls of flexible crimson spines.

It is steady-growing, taking 10 months to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, a handful of flowers, with each petal a slightly different shade of sky blue, grow at the top, reappearing after 5 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is made up of 12 petals in raised layers. It has a weak scent that smells like fermented fruit.

The cactus's skin is thick, the silver flesh is slimy, and the lilac sap is thin.
