Violetvine

Flower type: Biennial (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This average-sized flower grows up to 1.3 feet (41 cm) tall. Its moss green stem is wispy, and the huge, light brown leaves are thin with rounded edges. Many leaves grow at the base of the stem, and a pair of leaves grow at the base of the flower head.

Two medium-sized flowers sit at the end of each stem. The flowers are 44 cm (17.3 inches) wide, with petals that are generally violet; each flower tends to be a variation of this colour. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of 40 petals. They detach easily.

It has a delicate scent that smells like coconut, and it has excessive amounts of pollen. It is pollinated by insects , but only one species in particular.

It is almost impossible to grow indoors.
A particular bird species likes to nest in it.
