Blueberry Tree

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This modest-sized fruit tree grows up to 17 feet (5.2 meters) tall and lives for up to 45 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 82 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has a flexible, straight trunk covered in delicate, waxy, pine-coloured bark, and inside, the hard wood is black with white speckles.

The abundance of branches trail down towards the ground and are covered with small amounts of giant, circular leaves with ripped edges. The leaves themselves are green at the bottom and sky blue with drab green patches at the top.

In early spring, it produces hundreds of giant, white blossoms with oval-shaped shaped petals. They detach easily and have a delicate scent that smells like new books.

In early autumn it produces tiny, long, straight fruit. The rubbery muted yellow skin is thick and sour and savoury, and the soft gold flesh is salty and sour and sticky. The silver seeds are tiny and are bunched at the top of the fruit.

The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.

It is difficult to kill and will quickly regrow if cut.
It is suitable for making baskets and the like
