Burgundy Moss

This burgundy moss is commonly found growing in medium-sized clumps In rainy mountain ranges, In marshes, and In heathlands.
It is short, growing up to 2 inches (5 cm) tall. It forms in sparse patches and they are exceptionally hardy, and is slightly flexible.
When mature, emerald oblong capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the late summer to release thousands of spores.
