Crimson Moss

This pink-red moss is commonly found blanketing large areas In rainy mountain ranges, and In moorlands.
It is enormous, growing up to 1.3 feet (38 cm) tall. It forms in thin clumps and can overwhelm an area rapidly, and is slightly rigid.
When mature, emerald crescent-shaped capsules grow at the end of long, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early winter to release millions of spores.

All parts of the moss are edible.
It can survive a very long time without water.
It is suitable for making strong rope
