Black Petal

This short flower grows up to 2 inches (5 cm) tall. Its red stem is thin and straight, and the tiny, yellow-green leaves are dark yellow-green on the underside and are thin with ripped edges. The leaves grow from the base and are the same length as the stem.

Dozens of small flowers grow along the length of the stem. The flowers are 3 cm (1.2 inches) wide, with black petals and a yellow center. The flower head is shaped like a dish with 53 tightly layered, round-tipped petals. They are hardy.

It has a delicate scent that smells like rainy days, and it has lots of pollen. It is pollinated by insects and is enjoyed by several specific types of insect.
