Chocolate Blossom

Shrub type: Deciduous (Evergreen - keeps its leaves all year round)

This short shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for around 34 years. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has many slender, angular stems covered in fine, silky, dark gray bark, and the wood inside is brown.

The branches are short stubs with hundreds of twigs that and are covered with handfuls of tiny, sickle shaped, leaves with rounded edges. The leaves themselves are peach and bold green, light and frail and soft.

It produces several giant, brown flowers with shield-shaped shaped petals. They detach easily and have an intense scent that smells like chocolate. In late summer it forms smallcream seed pods.

It is suitable for creating flexible, durable textiles
It is almost impossible to grow from cuttings.
It is said to be the favourite flower of a legendary person.
