Coppercoil Bloom

Flower type: Biennial (Stores water in its stem)

This modest-sized flower grows up to 11 inches (28 cm) tall. Its drab yellow or cream stem is very thin and splits into numerous branching stems a quarter of the way up, and the small, gray-green leaves are perforated with rounded edges. Many leaves grow along the entire length of the stem.

A single small flower sits at the end of each stem. The flowers are 41 cm (16.1 inches) wide, with petals that are intense blue at the sides and copper at the center. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of up to 30 curved petals. They are very delicate.

It has a mildly strong scent that smells like something putrid, and it has lots of pollen. It is a self-pollinator.

It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles

The leaves are bitter, but very healthy.
