Blood Red Succulent

This modest-sized cactus grows up to 38 feet (11.6 meters) tall. The stiff, pointed stem is blood red and gentle green, and is covered in many rigid white spines.

It is fast growing, taking 8 months to reach maturity. Once mature, a single flower with each petal a slightly different shade of hazel grows at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is largely flat with many tightly layered round-tipped petals. It has a powerful scent that smells like varnish.

The cactus's skin is rock-hard, the green flesh is rough, and the sky blue sap is thin.
