Crimson Tree

This small tree grows up to 4 meters (13.1 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 352 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a sturdy, straight trunk covered in thick, waxy, silver bark, and inside, the dense wood is white.

The branches are long and slender and are covered with small amounts of fuzzy, huge, circular leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are either blood red or vibrant green, with azure zig-zags.

In early spring, it produces many bunches of giant, violet blossoms with many layers of petals. They detach easily and have a soft scent that smells like paint.

In late summer it forms medium-sized, dark grey seed pods.

The roots spread far and go deep underground, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
