Caramel

Shrub type: Deciduous (Stores water in its leaves)

This big shrub grows up to 7 feet (2.1 meters) tall and lives for around 19 years. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has dozens of very thick, curved stems covered in thick, smooth, brown-green bark, and the wood inside is mahogany-coloured.

The branches are very long and thin with thousands of twigs that and are covered with large amounts of huge, fan-like, leaves with wavy edges. The leaves themselves are grey with red tips, durable and smooth.

It produces several small, orange flowers with wide petals with a tube-like floral cup. They are hardy and have an intensely strong scent that smells like glue. In mid-summer it forms tinycaramel, spiky-shelled seeds.

It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
It is bio-luminescent.
The leaves are high in natural sugars.
It actively smothers and kills off other plants.
