Azurevine

This short shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for around 70 years. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has several slender, crooked stems covered in ridged, light gray bark, and the wood inside is black.

The branches are short stubs that and are covered with sparse amounts of large, finger-like, leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are found in olive, purple and aquamarine varieties, rigid and crispy.

In late spring it produces clusters of medium-sized, azure flowers with broad, flat petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They fall easily and have a mildly strong scent that smells like ashes.
