This moss green moss is commonly found growing in giant clumps In marshes, and In moorlands.
It is small, growing up to 2 inches (5 cm) tall. It forms in sparse patches, and is overwhelmingly flexible.
When mature, emerald shield-shaped capsules grow at the end of elongated, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early summer to release millions of spores.

It grows well in the sun and full shade.
It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
