This silver moss is commonly found blanketing tiny areas In rainforests.
It is enormous, growing up to 1.4 feet (43 cm) tall. It forms in thin clumps and they are slow to spread and grow, and is slightly frail.
When mature, emerald kidney-shaped capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early autumn to release thousands of spores.

Their seeds have hallucinogenic properties.
It is suitable for use as a construction material
The leaves are bitter, but very healthy.
