Purplevine

This large vine is a steady-growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 269 feet (82.0 meters) and growing as high as 19 feet (5.8 meters). It prefers to grow on man-made objects.

It takes 9 months for the light grey stems to mature, by which point they can have a diameter of 1.6 feet (48 cm) and are rough and gnarled.

The thin, waxy leaves reach up to 1.9 feet (58 cm) in length. They are solid purple with blue dots, and have rounded edges.

During late spring, the vine produces thousands of small grey flowers.
