Golden Spikeactus

This small cactus grows up to 4 feet (1.2 meters) tall. It splits near the top to form 3 very narrow, elongated stems. Each stem is yellow-green, and is covered in thick bunches of flexible lime spines. The round body is gold, and is covered in many fine, bronze, hair-like spines.

It is very slow growing, taking 38 years to reach maturity. Once mature, several flowers with drab blue petals and a cream central disk grow at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is shaped like a heart with 36 tightly layered, round-tipped petals. It has an overpowering scent that smells like rotten egg.

The cactus's skin is nearly impenetrable, the grey flesh is rough, and the ashy orange sap is thin.
