Bog Smoke Moss

This gray moss is commonly found blanketing small areas In bogs.
It is big, growing up to 8 inches (20 cm) tall. It forms in small clumps and they overwhelm an area rapidly, and is very flimsy.
When mature, emerald cylindrical capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early summer to release thousands of spores.
