Blue Spine Succulent

This small leaf succulent grows up to 12 feet (3.7 meters) tall. The asymmetrical stem is lime green, and is covered in thick bunches of rigid blue spines. The knobbly leaves are generally gentle blue. Large amounts of them grow on stumpy, burgundy branches that trail down towards the ground. The leaves are rigid, and detach easily.

It is very slow growing, taking 41 years to reach maturity. Once mature, several flowers with petals that are aquamarine on the edges and gentle blue at the center grow at the top, reappearing once every 8 years. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of up to 60 petals. It has a soft scent that smells like alcohol.

The leaf succulent's skin is rock-hard, the cream flesh is waxy, and the caramel sap is thin.
