Burgundy Stalkgrass
Grass type: Annual (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)This short, burgundy grass grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall. The long, narrow stalks grow in thin clumps that are flexible.
When mature, the end of the stem eventually transforms into a large, brown flower.
During the early winter, it produces very little pollen; it can cause allergic reactions, and after flowering, it is left with a handful of medium-sized grains.
It can absorb up to 16 times its own weight in water.
