Brown Moss

This light brown moss is commonly found growing in large clumps In rainy mountain ranges, and In marshes.
It is big, growing up to 10 inches (25 cm) tall. It forms in sparse patches, and is slightly light; it struggles more than most during dry spells.
When mature, emerald teardrop-shaped capsules grow at the end of long, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the mid-autumn to release millions of spores.
