Crimson Succulent

This short cactus grows up to 3 feet (91.4 cm) tall. The perforated stem is peach, and is covered in handfuls of rigid crimson spines. The mushroom-shaped body is copper, and is dotted with small ashy orange spines.

It is slow growing, taking 7 years to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, a handful of flowers, with pale green petals and a yellow center, grow at the top, reappearing after 9 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of up to 30 petals. It has an intensely strong scent that smells like burning wood.

The cactus's skin is rock-hard, the bright purple flesh is rough, and the slate sap is thin.
