Bronze

This modest-sized caudiciform grows up to 31 feet (9.4 meters) tall. The thin stem is gray, and is covered in many fine, bronze, hair-like spines. It has a slanted, thick, beige trunk atop a round mess of silky, exposed roots. The branches are wide and copper and are long and thin.

The wavy-edged, pleated leaves are found in magenta, deep blue and olive varieties. They are sturdy, and easily come away when pulled.

It is fast growing, taking 2 months to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, a single flower with solid magenta petals decorated with silver lines and a vibrant yellow central disk grows at the top, reappearing after 6 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is shaped like a tube with 16 raised, narrow petals. It has an overpowering scent that smells like pepper.

The caudiciform's skin is thin, the gold flesh is rough, and the light brown sap is thin and causes severe cramps if consumed.
