Grass type: Annual (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)This average-sized, violet grass grows up to 2 feet (61.0 cm) tall. The pleated stalks grow in thin clumps that are delicate and they spread and grow quickly.
When mature, the end of the stem eventually transforms into a large, blood red spikelet.
During the late autumn, it produces very little pollen, but can cause severe allergic reactions, and after flowering, it is left with a few large grains.
