Coral

Succulent type: Caudiciform (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This average-sized caudiciform grows up to 4 feet (1.2 meters) tall. The very thick stem is orange, and is covered in thousands of flexible olive spines. The wonky, pale red trunk can grow to as much as 4 feet (1.2 meters) in diameter at the bottom. Its emerald branches are short, rigid and upright and start growing at the top the stem.

The large amounts of irregular-edged, pleated leaves are solid red or blue, with orange edges. They are robust, but are very difficult to pull away.

It is steady-growing, taking 21 months to reach maturity. Once mature, a handful of flowers, with petals that are blue in the center, bronze in the middle and dark grey at the edges, grow at the top, reappearing once every 4 years. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of up to 20 petals. It has a soft scent that smells like warm milk.

The caudiciform's skin is thin, the gentle orange flesh is soft, and the gold sap is thin.

It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
