Copperwood

This small tree grows up to 3 meters (9.8 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 654 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a slender, curved trunk covered in thick, knobbly, dark brown bark, and inside, the very light wood is copper-coloured.

The numerous branches are very short and thin and are covered with very large amounts of fuzzy, tiny, long, tapering leaves with tattered edges. The leaves themselves are found in violet and green varieties.

In late summer it forms medium-sized, brown seed pods.

The roots are shallow and widely spread, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with patches of undergrowth between them.
