Copperberry

This enormous fruit tree grows up to 47 feet (14.3 meters) tall and lives for up to 25 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 57 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has a wide, straight trunk covered in hard, waxy, black bark, and inside, the very hard wood is silver.

The branches are very long and thin and are covered with small amounts of giant, stiff, pointed leaves with ripped edges. The leaves themselves are either brown or bold blue, with copper edges.

In early spring, it produces dozens of giant, red blossoms with 2 shield-shaped shaped petals. They fall easily and have a powerful scent that smells like alcohol.

In late summer it produces , oval fruit. The smooth blue skin is thin and edible when cooked; it is sweet, and the slightly crunchy orange flesh is spicy and syrupy. The beige seed is small and is in the centre of the fruit.

The roots are long and grow straight down, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with clear space between them.
