Purple Vine

This modest-sized vine is a steady-growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 42 feet (12.8 meters) and growing as high as 689 feet (210.0 meters).

It takes 12 months for the brown stems to mature, by which point they have tangled themselves into thick mats with a diameter of 3 inches (8 cm) and are rough and woody.

The long, tapering, sticky leaves reach up to 1.0 foot (30 cm) in length. They are a shade of green and black that gradient shifts to dark grey at the top, and have serrated edges.

During late spring, the vine produces handfuls of small vibrant purple flowers.
