Silverleaf Succulent

Succulent type: Leaf succulent (Stores water in its leaves)

This small leaf succulent grows up to 10 feet (3.0 meters) tall. The fan-like stem is brown, and is covered in many flexible brown spines. The toothed-edged, wispy leaves are either silver, or peach with black streaks. Sparse amounts of them grow from the base like blades of grass. The leaves are frail, and are very difficult to pull away.

It is steady-growing, taking 2 years to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, several flowers with solid gentle yellow petals decorated with azure lines and a orange central disk grow at the top, reappearing after 4 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is shaped like a star made up of 14 widely spaced, narrow petals. It has a fairly strong scent that smells like damp.

The leaf succulent's skin is rock-hard, the lime flesh is slimy, and the silver sap is thin.

It comes in 16 varieties, each with a different leaf colour.
