Aquamarinebell

Shrub type: Deciduous (Stores water in its leaves)

This small shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for around 18 years. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has many branched, twisting stems covered in knobbly, burgundy bark, and the wood inside is black.

The branches are short, rigid and upright with thousands of twigs that and are covered with handfuls of large, asymmetrical, leaves with tattered edges. The leaves themselves are solid aquamarine with brown splotches, tough and clammy.

In mid-summer it produces copious amounts of tiny, cream flowers with long, narrow petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They are sturdy and have a mildly strong scent that smells like damp.

It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
