Crimson Moss

This red moss is commonly found blanketing tiny areas On rotten logs, and In damp forests.
It is average-sized, growing up to 5 inches (13 cm) tall. It forms in small clumps, and is extremely durable; it can easily endure flooding and draughts.
When mature, emerald oblong capsules grow at the end of elongated, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the late autumn to release thousands of spores.
