Bluebell Bush

This small shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for around 20 years. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has many thick, curved stems covered in wrinkled, mahogany-coloured bark, and the wood inside is pale brown-grey.

The branches are very long and thin with thousands of twigs that and are covered with large amounts of huge, needle-like, leaves with tattered edges. The leaves themselves are generally vibrant blue, delicate and waxy.

In early summer it produces lots of giant, green flowers with perforated petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They are very delicate and have an overpowering scent that smells like lavender.
