Bluebell

This average-sized flower grows up to 1.3 feet (38 cm) tall. Its orange stems grow in bunches of 7 and are wispy with a curved tip, and the tiny, orange-yellow leaves are long, tapering with toothed edges. The leaves alternate on the stem from about halfway up, up to the flower head.

Two medium-sized flowers sit at the end of the stem. The flowers are 9 cm (3.5 inches) wide, with petals that are gold in the center, sky blue in the middle and dark grey at the edges. The flower head is shaped like a cube with 46 tightly layered, narrow petals. They detach easily.

It has an overpowering scent that smells like citrus, and it has very little pollen; it can cause severe allergic reactions. It is pollinated by the wind, but is also visited by a small species of bird.
