Copperleaf

Shrub type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This large shrub grows up to 5 feet (1.5 meters) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 140 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has many sturdy, crooked stems covered in fine, silky, copper-coloured bark, and the wood inside is pale brown-grey.

The branches are long and slender with dozens of twigs that and are covered with small bunches of small, stiff, pointed, leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are turquoise and dark grey, rigid and leathery.

It produces a thick sheet of medium-sized, azure flowers with fan-like petals. They are sturdy and have the faintest scent that smells like baby powder. In mid-autumn it forms giantbrown, winged seeds that float and land far away.
