Copperwood
Tree type: Coniferous (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)This modest-sized tree grows up to 18 meters (59.1 feet) tall and lives for over 3,000 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 3078 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has a flexible, straight trunk covered in smooth, copper-coloured bark, and inside, the hard wood is black.
The branches trail down towards the ground, covered with very large amounts of giant, moss green needles. The needles themselves are resistant.
In late summer it produces medium-sized, brown, winged seeds that float and land far away.
The roots are shallow and widely spread, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.
Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with grassy ground between them.
It is suitable for making baskets and the like
