Burgundy Vine

This modest-sized vine is a steady-growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 45 feet (13.7 meters) and growing as high as 612 feet (186.5 meters). It prefers to grow on rock formations.

It takes 4 years for the burgundy stems to mature, by which point they have tangled themselves into thick mats with a diameter of 4 inches (10 cm) and are rough and woody.

The very thin, rough leaves reach up to 1.7 feet (51 cm) in length. They are a shade of emerald that gradient shifts to white at the top, and have toothed edges.

During late spring, the vine produces several average blood red flowers, and during the early winter, after flowering, it produces a modest amount of tiny seed pods.
