Crimson Clinger

Flower type: Perennial (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This massive flower grows up to 14.5 feet (4.4 meters) tall. Its gray-green stem is very thick and straight, and the giant, red leaves are dark emerald on the underside and are spear shaped with wavy edges. The leaves alternate on the stem from about halfway up, up to the flower head.

2 to 7 tiny flowers grow on alternate sides up the length of the stem. The flowers are 54 cm (21.3 inches) wide, with petals that are dark brown at the sides and crimson at the center. The flower head is largely flat with 37 tightly layered narrow petals. They are sturdy.

It has a strong scent that smells like something putrid, and it has very little pollen. It is a self-pollinator, but is enjoyed by several specific types of insect.

The colour changes depends on whether the soil is acidic or alkaline.
It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
Their seeds have hallucinogenic properties.
