Hazelvine

Climbing plant type: Bine (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This modest-sized bine is a steady-growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 50 feet (15.2 meters) and growing as high as 407 feet (124.1 meters). It prefers to grow on man-made objects.

It takes 3 years for the moss green stems to mature, by which point they sometimes have a diameter of 3 inches (8 cm) and are tough and woody.

The asymmetrical, smooth leaves reach up to 1.5 feet (46 cm) in length. They are a shade of moss green that gradient shifts to hazel at the top, and have smooth edges.

During late spring, the bine produces a handful of large orange flowers, and during the early winter, after flowering, it produces copious amounts of very large berries.

It is suitable for making baskets and the like
