Copper Blue

This large flower grows up to 5.5 feet (1.7 meters) tall. Its copper stem is very thin and straight, and the small, green leaves are sickle shaped with tattered edges. The leaves alternate on the stem.

6 to 8 medium-sized flowers grow on alternate sides up the length of the stem. The flowers are 60 cm (23.6 inches) wide, with washed-out blue petals that gradient shift to washed-out blue on the outer edge. The central disk is gold. The flower head is made up of 18 petals; the lower layer of petals are flat, while the upper layers form a tight cup. They are sturdy.

It has an overpowering scent that smells like cheese, and it has an average amount of pollen; it does not cause many allergic reactions. It is pollinated by the wind, but is also visited by a variety of insects.
