Bluebell Bush

This modest-sized shrub grows up to 4 feet (1.2 meters) tall and lives for around 33 years. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has many long and flexible, wavy stems covered in thin, rough, light gray bark, and the wood inside is pale yellow.

The branches are short stubs with hundreds of twigs that and are covered with thick bunches of huge, asymmetrical, leaves with ripped edges. The leaves themselves are solid blue or slate, with violet lines, light and leathery.

In late spring it produces large amounts of small, sky blue flowers with stiff, pointed petals. They detach easily and have a soft scent that smells like vanilla.
