Blackberry

This big leaf succulent grows up to 96 feet (29.3 meters) tall. The needle-like stem is black, and is dotted with small grey spines. The lumpy leaves are either black, or amber with muted yellow lines. Thick bunches of them grow on flat, gray-green branches that trail down across the ground. The leaves are rigid, and take little effort to detach.

It is quick growing, taking 3 months to reach maturity. Once mature, a handful of flowers, with petals that are aquamarine in the center, intense orange in the middle and lime at the edges, grow at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is shaped like a cup with 14 tightly layered, narrow petals. It has a delicate scent that smells like perfume.

The leaf succulent's skin is extremely thick, the pink flesh is leathery, and the bright red sap is thin.
