Aquamarine Skyflower
Flower type: Perennial (Stores water in its leaves)This large flower grows up to 5.5 feet (1.7 meters) tall. Its moss green stem is very thick and straight with a curved tip, and the huge, orange leaves are dark lime green on the underside and are thick with wavy edges. Many leaves grow at the base of the stem, and a pair of leaves grow at the base of the flower head.
Two medium-sized flowers sit at the end of each stem. The flowers are 76 cm (29.9 inches) wide, with solid aquamarine petals and a bold blue central disk. The flower head is made up of many petals in raised layers. They are sturdy.
It has a powerful scent that smells like chocolate, and it has an average amount of pollen; it can cause severe allergic reactions. It is pollinated by the wind and is ignored by most insect species.
It spreads easily and often blanket large areas.
It is possible to grow it from cuttings.
