Copperflower
Flower type: Biennial (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)This enormous flower grows up to 11.4 feet (3.5 meters) tall. Its copper stems grow from the base of the plant in bunches of 4 and are wispy and straight, and split into many branching stems halfway up, and the tiny, yellow-green leaves are 8 pointed with wavy edges. Many leaves grow at the base of the stem, and more leaves grow in pairs along the length of the stem.
A single small flower sits at the end of the stem. The flowers are 45 cm (17.7 inches) wide, with petals that are generally orange; each flower tends to be a variation of this colour. The flower head is made up of many petals in raised layers. They are sturdy.
It has a delicate scent that smells like chocolate, and it has a modest amount of pollen; it does not cause any allergic reactions. It is pollinated by the wind.
It is suitable for creating flexible, durable textiles
It grows well in the sun and full shade.
