Copperflower

This average-sized flower grows up to 1.2 feet (36 cm) tall. Its purple stem is very thick and straight, and the large, copper leaves are asymmetrical with irregular edges. The leaves alternate on the stem.

5 to 8 small flowers grow on alternate sides up the length of the stem. The flowers are 34 cm (13.4 inches) wide, with cyan petals and a deep red central disk. The flower head is made up of dozens of petals; the lower layer of petals are flat, while the upper layers form a tight star. They detach easily.

It has a mildly strong scent that smells like warm milk, and it has copious amounts of pollen. It is pollinated by insects and is enjoyed by several specific types of insect.
